Recruitment drive a success

Indigenous Engagement Officer Michael Grech has had a busy start to the year recruiting for roles with the ARA Group.

Michael has successfully placed seven candidates in cleaning and technical roles this year.

Using his links with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, Michael has recruited five candidates for a cleaning role at ARA Property Services, and an electrical fire and sprinkler fitter apprenticeship for the ARA Fire Services division.

Michael says that he has been working hard to further enhance and establish links with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities since he started with ARA in December.

“We have been out promoting our Pathways Program and the various employment, education and engagement opportunities that we offer to the community.”

“We have had success through our links with organisations like the Clean Slate Community Program, the AFL community and through word of mouth,” Michael said.

“Through the seven divisions of ARA: Property, Fire, Products, Mechanical, Electrical, Building and Security we are able to offer a variety of operational and administrative roles.”

We welcome Marc Jarett, Adrian Hookey, George Gordan, Nahdia Noter, Jemiah Baigent, Ilija Dragovich and Reuben Bell to ARA.

In May 2017, CMC Indigenous Services merged with the ARA Group to form ARA Indigenous Services/CMC.

Founded in 2015 by Michael O’Loughlin and Paul McCann, CMC Indigenous Services (now ARA Indigenous Services) started out delivering an integrated property maintenance service including; contract cleaning, maintenance services, soft services and waste management and has expanded to multiple industrial services since forming its partnership with the ARA group in 2017.
